Writing is one of the oldest forms of arts activism. Activating socially-conscious voices through text begets so many perspectives that a beautiful space for thought and dialogue can emerge in the capable hands of a strong writer. As a novel, Full Tilt by Neil Shusterman took me to the edge, dropped me, and then caught my fall all the while whispering sweet admonishments in my ear about why it is important to be introspective and appreciative of life as a young person.
